Better than Leatherman
This is much better when compared to the leatherman version. It feels stronger made and so much smoother in both operation and switching directions. Fair price and a solid tool. Would recommend.

Read MoreAs always great quality items from 711L this one no different came with a carry zip up pouch which has built in magnet to secure other items of kit and it's a hard shell one, ratchet has a nice feel and is nicely engineered with good quality finished. I recommend 711L kit to anyone looking to add to the Leatherman tool Wave, Charge or Surge set up, I do own a leatherman ratchet bit but the 711L is a step up from it in finish and quality but thats just my 2 pennies worth.
Read MoreIf you're interested in this item, you probably looked at the Leatherman Ratchet driver first. You also probably watched all the videos and reviews online. I can confirm this tool is high quality. Definitely higher quality than the leatherman version (i have both). Why higher quality? Well it's an all metal build. The ratcheting action feels very very precise and satisfying. I don't know exactly how many teeth this ratchet has, but it must be more than the leatherman when comparing the twisting action. Packaging wise, i can confirm this comes not only with the tool, but the red keychain piece (seen in the product pics) and two keychain loops. Even the cardboard box it comes in has a premium feel to it which is a nice bonus. Slotting the tool into all my leathermans (wave, surge, and skeletool) worked perfectly. The only real downside is it's bulkier than the leatherman version so it won't fit into any of the sheaths. But on the other hand, you can slip it onto your keychain and you'll always have a ratcheting driver! Good buy if you're willing to spend the $$ for it. Definitely a buy once cry once purchase.
Read MoreThis tool absolutely blows away the Learherman ratchet accessory. More expensive but all metal parts and it feels like the tolerance and quality are 5 x better.
Read MoreThis tool is awesome! I use the keychain everyday and I mix and match the tool with screwdrivers and my multi-tools. It really turns your EDC kit into a superkit across the board.
Read MorePros - First off it is better than the leatherman as far as it's capabilities and it's swing and ratcheting is way smoother, It is a good inline ratchet, it has decent arc movement,it is stylish and turns your magnetic bit driver into a ratcheting driver, another great feature is the release for your bits which is nice for stubby. I would say the magnet is decently strong. Cons - it pretty bulky and is very expensive for a hobbyist style tool, this wouldn't be an EDC type of item (maybe a hobby bag or as an ad on to a bit driver)because I don't find my self in real life needing a ratchet driver, maybe work bench on a repair or light teardown for precision applications (R/C, PMs for computer repair, medium light household screws like furniture assembly and such but not for major torque as you would on machine assembly or impact situations. Would give it 4 stars if it wasn't for the price and how long it took for them be in stock (replacement if it's EDC). I purchased this wanting to see how it worked against the leatherman bit ratchet attachment and of course because the internet hyped it all up.
Read MoreThis ratchet is significantly better than the one from Leatherman. Note that it's pretty thick around the middle where the gear that switches the direction, so while it does fit inside an Alpaka pro zip pouch, it's a bit thick. As in it goes on top of the other stuff inside the pouch just under the zipper. This ratchet has a large number of teeth, I didn't count, but it has very fine control. It seems well built although I have not put it to the failure test. Note: it works with both regular 1/4th hex bits and double ended ones, as well as the flat double bits from Leatherman. (tm)
Read MoreThis is a solid piece of kit. I had to open a wooden crate that was sealed with screws. Only tools I had were this an my leatherman skeletool. Thanks to this guy, it wasn't a complete pain getting into it and because it isn't a plastic construction, like the leatherman version, it's still alive to fight another day. Personally, I'd recommend the red one over the blue one since the flat shank is compatible with standard 1/4" hex bits, but the opposite is not true.
